Mansfield House Books is an independent publisher of contemporary fiction and memoir. We promote authors with a singular voice, those who write for the love of writing and not for the bottom line. We aren’t looking for genre fiction or “commercial” books that are quickly read and soon forgotten. We seek to create a library of modern classics that will stand the test of time.
Working as we do in the digital age, our company also strives to find new ways to spread the joy of reading, whether it be on an iPhone, a tablet, a PC or a Mac. We’ve embraced e-readers in every form—Kindle, iPad, Sony, Nook—and are constantly on the lookout for the next great medium. Being a publisher no longer limits us to the printed page. There’s a brave new world of literature to explore (and trees to be saved).
If At First You Don’t Succeed
Frank Herbert’s Dune was rejected 20 times before being published. Robert Pirsig received 121 rejection letters before Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance found print and became a best seller.
